Roses used to be such a common sight in many gardens. Roses were a sign of aspiration,prosperity and growth. They were displayed in the gardens of the wealthiest and of those who aspired to join their ranks. Many commoners used to foster them too, in the hope that one day, they too could be like the rich. Roses have declined in popularity since then.
